We all know that as long as it is wood, it is inseparable from problems such as stability, force balance, humidity, water absorption, etc. Simple wood is easily affected by different factors and causes deformation and cracking. Plywood, on the other hand, makes full use of the structure of wood fibers, and uses crossed and inverted arrangements to solve various stability, force balance, and rigidity problems encountered by solid wood panels.
High-quality plywood, which even provides strength to the board itself in multiple axes, performs much better than solid wood boards.
This point can also be seen from the production process of plywood.
How to make qualified plywood from scratch?
The first thing to do is to find the right wood.
At present, the mainstream plywood uses many varieties of wood such as camphor, eucalyptus, poplar, and eucalyptus. The performance of plywood made of different woods will be different.
Although the performance of different woods is different, the processing process is still the same. First, the workers select a tree of suitable size and age in the forest, cut it down, and transport it to the factory.
Afterwards, the tree is sawn into trunk sections for easy processing.
Workers will first use tools to peel off the bark to prevent the bark from entering the next processing link.
Then, the tree's journey officially began.
First, the workers will fix the peeled tree trunk on a professional cutting machine, and then press the switch, and the machine will cut the trunk, cutting the trunk into a thin bark only a few millimeters thick like a pencil sharpener.
When a tree is cut, it becomes a thin sheet like the picture below, so complete that it can even be rolled up like a carpet.
Of course, you can also choose to cut the trunk into pieces and overlap it later.
After cutting, the production of plywood enters the next step-gluing.
After the wood is cut, workers put the cut slices into specialized machines, where the raw material goes in one side and comes out the other side already coated with glue.
Afterwards, the workers will overlap these glued sheets together. The three-plywood and five-plywood we often talk about refer to the number of overlapping veneers in this process.
After this step is completed, the workers will put the processed veneer into a special heat-pressing machine. At this time, it is the last step of making plywood-heat pressing.
Under the environment of high temperature and high pressure, several layers of laminated sheets are firmly fixed together, and plywood is born.
From the perspective of the whole process, the so-called plywood is actually to fix multiple thin boards together, and use the fiber characteristics of the wood itself to make the plywood have uniform characteristics and stable shape.
Finally, the workers saw the processed plywood into standard size, and a piece of plywood that can be circulated in the market is completed, and then it will enter the homes of thousands of ordinary people through material dealers.
As a board, the cost of plywood is lower than that of solid wood boards, the structure is stable, the water resistance and the nail holding power are good, and it is suitable for making cabinets or other cabinets.
